According to ABC 10News and the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the overturned semi-truck prompted authorities to close all southbound lanes of I-5 in the area except for the HOV lane. The CHP issued a traffic advisory at approximately 6:30 a.m. on September 8, 2026, warning motorists to expect significant delays and exercise caution while traveling through the area.
