According to reports, a 23-year-old motorcyclist died after his Harley-Davidson collided with an SUV near Catalina Boulevard and Varona Street in the Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma.

According to San Diego police, the collision occurred shortly after noon Wednesday.

Police reported that the motorcyclist had the right of way. The SUV attempted to cross Catalina Boulevard, and the motorcycle collided with the Jeep’s rear passenger door.

Emergency personnel transported the rider to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said driving under the influence was not a factor in the collision. The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
